Frequently Asked Questions
❋ How does the Junction Health model work?
Junction Health serves as a managed services partner, operating the infusion center on behalf of the CHC. We receive a mutually negotiated management fee as a percentage of net income, ensuring that our success is directly aligned with the clinic’s profitability. The CHC maintains ownership of the service, while Junction Health handles operations, compliance, and financial performance.❋ Who does the infusion center serve?
Our first priority is ensuring that all existing health center patients, including those without insurance, have access to necessary infusion therapies. Additionally, we extend services to the broader community, reaching patients who may not otherwise have access to care. This outreach is supported by a dedicated provider relations team that collaborates with community specialists, pharmaceutical representatives, and other ambulatory infusion centers. ❋ What are the 340B considerations?
Every patient of the infusion center must first have a qualifying visit with the health center. This ensures that the health center owns the responsibility for the patient, creating 340B eligibility, and then refers the 340B-eligible patient to the infusion center. Junction Health strictly adheres to each health center’s 340B policies and procedures. ❋ What therapies are administered?
Junction Health supports non-chemo infusion therapies across multiple specialties and chronic conditions. You can find a comprehensive list of therapies and conditions on our website by visiting www.Junction-Health.com.❋ What therapies are administered?

Junction Health is invested fully in the success of in-house infusion with a desire to minimize financial barriers for CHCs. Our management fee is tailored to each organization and is based on aligned incentives—meaning Junction Health bears the majority of the financial risk while supporting the CHC’s long-term sustainability. ❋ What services does Junction Health provide?

The primary workflow is to utilize medical buy-and-bill rather than pharmacy billing to ensure drug access, streamline infusion operations, and maximize reimbursement. This also allows the Center to avoid PBM and drug manufacturer requirements of specialty pharmacy accreditation (i.e. URAC/ACHC), with Junction Health specifically requesting wholesaler purchasing access to these 340B drugs through medical licensure. ❋ What drives Junction Health?
High Quality Access for All: Junction Health is committed to bridging gaps in care by ensuring underserved populations have access to life-enhancing infusion and injectable medications. Our work is grounded in patient stories that highlight the transformative impact of accessible infusion therapy.
CHC Financial Sustainability: With 32 million people relying on CHCs for care, we aim to enhance financial self-sufficiency, reducing dependency on uncertain funding sources and ensuring long-term viability for these essential community health providers.❋ What are the space requirements for an infusion center?
A typical infusion center includes four private infusion suites, requiring 1,200-1,500 square feet. Junction Health oversees design and buildout, working with the CHC’s preferred architects and contractors. Costs depend on whether the project involves a renovation or a full remodel. Our Founding Story
The idea for Junction Health began in 2023 when Vinny Polito, Matt Vestal, and Ben Wiederholt embarked on a journey to address a significant gap in healthcare: the lack of access to infusion services for people living with chronic conditions, particularly within Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs). At the time, only a handful of the 1,400 FQHCs across the country were equipped to provide these essential services. As a result, many individuals—especially those who were uninsured, on Medicaid, or covered by high-deductible health plans—were unable to access the standard of care that IV infusion therapy offers.
This lack of access was compounded by the financial struggles faced by many FQHCs, which were grappling with reduced services, workforce cuts, and, in some cases, the threat of closure. Recognizing the critical need to both expand patient access to care and support the financial sustainability of these centers, Vinny, Matt, and Ben laid the groundwork for Junction Health. In 2024, with initial funding secured, Junction Health launched its first infusion site at Tampa Family Health Centers, marking the beginning of its mission-driven work.
Junction Health is dedicated to making infusion services a common and integral part of the care provided by FQHCs, with a goal to positively impact the lives of millions of people. By ensuring that high-quality, accessible care is available to all, Junction Health aims to transform the landscape of healthcare for vulnerable populations, providing them with the essential treatments they need to lead healthier lives.
